We are looking to recruit an ambitious and experienced individual who is keen to join Alan Boswell Insurance Brokers Ltd as Corporate New Business Developer covering the East of England.
A group-wide role identifying, generating and developing corporate new business opportunities. The role is part of a small but specialist team, working with all other parts of the business.
The individual will have autonomy to research, develop and win new prospective clients within agreed parameters. Support will be provided from marketing, broking and other specialist areas of the group.
You’ll be given autonomy to develop the business and provide expert, independent advice and be able to grow new and support existing business in the area.
Responsibilities
To implement and drive forward the company’s strategy to be the natural choice for friendly expert advice on insurance and financial services
Self–generate new business opportunities to build a sustainable pipeline
Develop and win these opportunities with the support of colleagues
Generating new ideas and projects for the company to develop and expand on services we offer
Keep your technical and regulatory knowledge up to date and ensure this is applied effectively in your role
Work together to achieve the company’s common goals.
Be flexible in your approach and be prepared to change your plans when required
Requirements
An understanding and knowledge of the business landscape in and around the working area
General awareness and ideally basic competence in the group’s services including corporate insurance, risk management, and employee benefits
Ability to generate new ideas and projects for the company
Able to tailor a business proposal to the clients’ requirements
Strong communication skills at all levels
High level of interpersonal and negotiation skills
Selling and questioning skills
Closing skills
Effective time management with the ability to meet internal and external deadlines
Self-motivation and development within the role
Relevant qualifications (insurance, risk management, business management) are desirable
